Hudson Michigan Project
The Kelemen Company acquired the historic Hudson Motor Company’s original showroom at 2222 S. Michigan Avenue in Chicago a few years ago as an adaptive reuse opportunity. The building is part of Motor Row, designed by architect Alfred Alschuer, and in 1922 it was the national auto place for the Hudson Motor Company.
The Company is re-entitling the building from an industrial showroom into a mixed-use project that includes a 120-bedroom co-living, hospitality, multiple restaurants, a rooftop pool, and venue space.
Located in the South Loop, adjacent to the McCormick Place Convention Center, this adaptive reuse development will breathe life into historic Motor Row through the restoration of this historic building. The area has already seen a transformation over the past few years with new hotel and multi-family developments along with city infrastructural projects such as the Cermak green line, sidewalk widenings, and the new Wintrust Arena.
The Hudson will provide a place for community gathering and entertainment as well as open the door to further revitalization of the South Loop.
